Cataracts are when the intraocular lens becomes cloudy and opaque making it difficult for light to enter the eye, thus causing blurry vision that cannot be corrected by glasses.  Surgical removal and placement of a clear intraocular lens is required to restore vision. This is a simple 20 minute out patient procedure.
